ABOUT
Jonas Kolecki is a multidisciplinary artist, filmmaker, and painter whose work explores time, memory, and the traces of human presence in landscapes — both physical and conceptual.
Born on the outskirts of Munich, Jonas began documenting his friends and their everyday life with a camera as a young teenager, driven by a fascination with capturing fleeting moments. This early engagement with film set the foundation for his practice.
He studied philosophy at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München before completing a BFA in New Media Arts at the Free University of Bolzano and is finalizing his MFA at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen.
Jonas’s work has been shown internationally, including exhibitions at Fondazione Antonio Dalle Nogare in Bolzano, Lothringer 13 in Munich, and Kunsthaus Dahlem in Berlin.
Across film and painting, he investigates how images evolve, dissolve, and transform — approaching canvas with a filmmaker’s sensibility and embracing open narratives rather than fixed conclusions.
His practice spans documentary and conceptual film work, site-engaged painting, and collage, creating a visual dialogue between momentary experience and enduring form.

Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia.
